Vision for Youth of Bangladesh

The Challenge:

The Christian community in Bangladesh is a small minority – only 1% of this impoverished, officially Islamic nation. While the country allows for freedom of religion, radical Islamic groups pose increasing pressures and potential persecution to Christian youth. There is a critical need to provide mature Christian mentoring to troubled Bangladesh youth in the church community.

The Opportunity:

Christian Association of Youth Mentoring (CAYM), a U.S. based, 501c3 ministry that helps churches and ministries develop safe and effective youth mentoring programs, has committed to help start a mentoring ministry to Bangladesh youth. In the next few months, a seasoned leader of CAYM plans to travel to Bangladesh to train leaders from Inter-Church Youth Camp Committee (ICYCC), a national organization that equips and challenges Christian youth of Bangladesh. The goal is to give troubled and persecuted youth individual support and guidance from mature older Christians to help them grow in all aspects of life and faith.

The Cost:

Already, ICTCC is translating CAYM’s training materials into Bengali to start the process. But on-the-ground training and long-term follow-up needs to happen to make this mentoring ministry a reality.

CAYM needs to raise $16,000 in the next few months. The great news is that we have a matching donor opportunity! Today, we only need to raise $8,000 which will be matched in order to fund:

  • CAYM Travel expenses to Bangladesh
  • A three-day intensive training program for ICYCC leaders
  • Start-up costs for the Bangladesh Mentoring program
  • 18 months of remote support and coaching to ensure success.

Donate NOW to help the youth of Bangladesh. Your tax-deductible donation* will positively impact youth both inside and outside the burgeoning Christian churches by enabling one-on-one mentoring from trained, compassionate role models by supporting this initiative. Give today!
